World Sepsis Day, on September 13th, unites global efforts to combat sepsis, which causes at least 11 million deaths annually. Awareness varies widely, with less than 50% of people knowledgeable about sepsis. Many are unaware that vaccination, clean care, and early treatment can prevent and significantly reduce sepsis mortality. This knowledge gap makes sepsis the leading preventable cause of death worldwide.
For staff interested in sepsis, the Library and Knowledge Centre (LKC) offers a regular Evidence Update. Sign up to receive a PDF with linked citations of the latest sepsis research directly to your inbox.
Past Sepsis Evidence Updates are available to view on the ‘Stay Current’ page of our website
