A recent publication has described the development of the OL’ Medical Colouring Book by library staff and a history student as a light-hearted way to ease stress for students during exam time. It uses illustrations from historical anatomy and botany texts. The book can be freely downloaded and printed.
The idea behind the project is universal—taking time for quiet, creative moments can help manage stress and restore focus. The Library & Knowledge Centre (LKC) holds a collection of colouring books for adults which includes both print and eBook formats. Whether it’s a quick reset between tasks or a longer wind-down at the end of the day, a few minutes with coloured pencils can go a long way.
